Danish midfielder set for contract extension at Tottenham Hotspur
Christian Eriksen has confirmed he’s in talks with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a new contract.
The Dane has been a crucial part of Spurs‘ team over the past two seasons, forming a formidable partnership with star-striker Harry Kane.
The 23-year-old has six goals to his name so far this season, and has been majorly overshadowed by Dele Alli‘s incredible form, but despite that, officials at White Hart Lane are still desperate to offer Eriksen a new and improved deal.
According to reports, Eriksen and Tottenham have been in talks for months now, with his current wage set to rise by a third up to £80k-a-week.
Speaking about his future and possibly a new contract, Eriksen said: “We are talking [about a contract], so it is coming, yes. Well, it looks positive.”
The new deal is likely to keep the midfielder at Spurs until 2021.
