Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen has revealed that he is interested in a move to the Premier League and in particular a move to White Hart Lane in order to join Tottenham Hotspur.
The 21-year-old is thought to be on his way out from Holland after spending several years with Ajax and after reported interest being show by Liverpool, it now looks like Spurs could be the likely destination for the Dane.
Eriksen has already rejected approaches from Russian clubs and has admitted in an interview that he would love to be reunited with former team-mate Jan Vertonghen.
‘Tottenham are a great club,’ the Ajax midfielder told Danish newspaper BT.
‘I know from Vertonghen that it is a good club which is interesting. but there has not been any contact.
‘I do not know if I am going to leave Ajax. We’ll find out in two weeks.
‘There are to my knowledge no negotiations right now either with a new club or Ajax.
‘If there is a good approach (from another club), I see as an opportunity to try something new, but if nothing comes, I do not mind staying.’
Andre Villas-Boas has been busy in the summer transfer window already bringing in three new faces, but faces his toughest task yet in holding on to star-asset Gareth Bale amid continous reports linking him with a mega-move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
