Citizens closing on Dortmund star transfer
Manchester City are thought to be very close to be securing a deal for Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan.
It’s a rumour that’s been around for a while now, and it’s thought now that the deal is done and dusted. Director of football at City Txiki Begiristain and new manager Pep Guadiola have already met Gundogan and his representatives.
City only wanted to pay £28m with the Germans wanting £34m, but it’s now thought that a middle ground has been found and a £30million fee has been agreed.
Gundogan has had injury problems this season but made a comeback in Dortmund’s Europa League quarter final 2nd leg vs Liverpool at Anfield, but he only came off the bench to see his side get on the wrong end of a devastating comeback from the home side.
An announcement about his City move is set to be made at the end of the season.
