Clash at White Hart Lane

Just as Spurs thought they had hit rock bottom and nothing could go any more wrong for them, it has. A backstage clash between Franco Baldini and Tim Sherwood is slowly emerging and causing trouble at White Hart Lane.

Interim boss Sherwood was placed in charge by Chairman Daniel Levy after sacking former boss Andre Villas-Boas and Levy says he wants Sherwood to stay until May.

Franco Baldini has been under fire at Tottenham after having signed several players in the summer who have yet to perform. The relationship between Sherwood and Baldini has been described as ‘frosty at best.’

According to the Sunday People, Baldini fell out with AVB before the latter was shown the door. Despite this though, Baldini was allowed to keep his job even though he was an integral part of Spurs’ shortcomings this season.

To keep the job, Sherwood will have to prove to Levy he is the man for the job. He must prove that he is better than any potential replacements, such as Basel’s Murat Yakin who is rumoured to be a favourite of Levy.

Villas-Boas was sacked after the 5-0 thrashing against Liverpool, but the dismal league performance up to that point was the real reason AVB was shown the door.
