Kevin de Bruyne was an angry sulking kid at Chelsea.

The Belgian midfielder joined Chelsea in 2012 and could manage only nine first-team appearances at the club before sealing a permanent move to Wolfsburg.

City paid ÂŁ55m for his services in 2015 and he has now established himself as one of the greatest creators the Premier League has ever seen.

Since leaving Chelsea, the Belgian midfielder has won five Premier League titles with Manchester City.

Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel has explained why it never worked out for De Bruyne in the West London club.

He told on his podcast: “I think Kevin De Bruyne wasn’t the best trainer back then. He was somebody that comes to training, and probably because he wasn’t playing that much, always having his head down, always angry and sulking.”

“He was like a kid who came to the playground and nobody wanted to play with him. I remember when Samuel Eto’o had a go at him and they had a massive fight on the training ground just because he wasn’t putting in the effort that Samuel Eto’o wanted, so they had a massive row on the pitch.”
