Manager admits they may have to listen to Liverpool offers

FC Cologne manager Peter Stoger has admitted the club may have to sell Jonas Hector this summer should a suitable offer come in.

The German international is reportedly wanted by Premier League side Liverpool, and with Jurgen Klopp ready to launch a formal bid for the left-back, Cologne are coming to terms with the fact they may lose their star this summer.

Klopp is eager to replace Alberto Moreno as Liverpool’s starting left-back, and Hector is the man he wants to bring in, with the reported fee believed to be around £12million.

When asked about Hector’s future, Stoger admitted that the club have to be realistic about their chances of keeping him, especially if a formal offer is launched.

Cologne Accepting Defeat

‘I don’t have to talk about what may happen in the summer,’ he explained.

‘But if somebody should offer us a three-figure million sum, we’d probably give in.

‘If a two-figure million sum is offered, we’d consider it.

‘And if Jonas Hector says that he doesn’t want to stay here, we’d have to face up to it.’
