Real Madrid have announced their intention to activate the buy-back clause in Alvaro Morata’s contract with Juventus, bringing him back to his former club.

This news is coming from the Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta, who also says his club plan to try bringing the Spaniard back to the club.

This news will not come as a shock to many people, as the Morata saga has gone on for months and months- with most reports suggesting they would ideally like to sell him on for a profit this summer.

The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have been strongly linked with the 23-year-old throughout the saga, but Juventus haven’t given up hope of re-signing him from Real.

‘Real Madrid will take advantage on the buy-back clause,’ Marotta told Italian press. ‘He will leave Turin and go back to Spain. Then we’ll see (if we can buy him again).
