Serie A club Sampdoria have confirmed that they have received an offer from Premier League giants Chelsea
It has been reported that the Blues are keen to bring forward Luis Muriel over to Stamford Bridge and have approached Sampdoria.
However, they won’t do business unless his £30.5m release clause is met.
Muriel, 25, has been linked with January moves to both the Blues and Napoli
When asked about an offer from Stamford Bridge, Ferrero told Fantagazzetta:
“Yes, there is an offer, so they tell me. But Muriel is not for sale. For €35m (£30.5m) we can talk.”
Muriel left his native Colombia to join Udinese in 2009, signing for Sampdoria in 2015. Having spent the last seven years of his professional career in Italy the forward has no shortage of admirers, with Napoli having already tested the water for offers.
“Aurelio [De Laurentiis, Napoli’s club president] hasn’t called me for Muriel because the player is not for sale,” Ferrero was quoted as saying by Football Italia this week. “At the moment, I’ll hold tight to him and stay calm, given that De Laurentiis hasn’t called me.
“To think, when Muriel wasn’t playing they wanted to give me €15m for him when I paid €12m, but I said no! Muriel has a clause of €35m, but De Laurentiis is a magician of clauses.”
Muriel has scored four times in 12 appearances for Sampdoria this season.
