Munich’s chief exec confirms deal is in place

Bayern Munich have confirmed they’ve reached an agreement with Juventus for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The powerhouse had been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Manchester United interested, but they have both missed out as he’s agreed to join Munich.

Pep Guardiola‘s side were in the market for a new centre-midfielder after they allowed Bastian Schweinsteiger to join United earlier in the summer.

It’s believed the fee is around ÂŁ28million and Vidal will undergo a medical in Germany over the next day or so.

Club Statement

“I can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle between both parties and the player,” Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

“It lacks only the medical examination and the signing of the contract. Should everything run smoothly, Arturo will start training with the club next week.”

The 28-year-old will end his four year association with The Old Lady after making 124 Serie A appearances and winning four league titles.
