New York Red Bull’s run riot and humiliate the champions 4 – 2 in the blues first pre-season test.

Loic Remy opened the scoring in what turned out be an entertaining start to pre-season with Eden Hazard finding the net in the second half, but Chelsea were left stunned as the Red Bulls knocked in 4 after some sloppy defending in what was a nightmare debut for Asmir, to seal the win.

Jose Mourinho was particularly damning of the second half performance. He said, “I new it would be difficult but the second half was too bad. To many mistakes,” he added, “I don’t like to loose and we lost in a bad way. Was a poor second half.”

Very few Chelsea fans would disagree with the ‘special one’ whom was made to look very ordinary tonight.

Chelsea made wholesale changes at the break with only three players asked to complete the 90 minutes. The others involved all played 45 apart from Academy players Ola Aina and Dom Solanke who shared the second half. While the result looks damming, Chelsea missed a host of chances and on another night could of scored 8 or 9. However, it wasn’t their night and the Red Bulls punished Chelsea’s sloppy mistakes which I am sure will be put down to fatigue.

There were some positives for Chelsea however, Diego Costa looks to have regained some fitness, Eden Hazard still looks a world beater and Moses looks like he still has a career at Chelsea.
