Manchester United have announced that they have opened contract talks with striker Wayne Rooney, and they are willing to offer him another long-term contract so that he will end his career at Old Trafford.
There has been a lot of speculation regarding Rooney’s future with links with Chelsea and Real Madrid, but it appears that United are ready to rule out any potential sale by offering the Englishman a new contract.
The 28-year-old’s currently deal, which is worth around £250k-a-week, expires next Summer, and David Moyes is desperate to get the new deal sorted out as soon as possible, so that there is no risk of losing him on a free next year.
It is believed that the new deal being offered to Rooney would make him the highest ever Manchester United player, and it is understood that talks are hoping to conclude by the end of next week.
