Real Madrid are arguably the biggest football club in the world and they are one of the market leaders when it comes to transfers and signing the most talented footballers on the planet. The Spanish giants have been linked with a summer move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba after the Frenchman was instrumental for both club and country last season. The 22-year-old played a crucial role in the Italian side’s domination of the domestic competitions this year and led the Old Lady to their first Champions League final since 2003.

Unfortunately, Pogba was helpless as a ruthless Barcelona side grabbed the showpiece event by the scruff of the neck to complete their second treble in six seasons but the Frenchman’s performances in the competition certainly caught the eye of Europe’s elite clubs. This season, however, many punters will be backing Real Madrid to go on and perform well in the UEFA competitions betting markets under Spaniard Rafael Benitez – who has won three major European competitions in the past. Pogba has always been highly regarded and many claim that he is arguably the best young talent in European football.

The Frenchman ticks all the right boxes and possesses many of the traits needed to succeed at the top level. He is a very intelligent footballer and can spot passes that other footballers would struggle to see. His vision, awareness and strength are clear for all to see and he is more than capable of rifling a shot into the top corner from 25 yards out. He was one of the best players on the planet last season and current club Juventus are demanding a fee of around ÂŁ80 million for the Frenchman. Pogba is one of those players who can control a game and is more than capable of competing against the greatest midfielders in the sport.

Furthermore, Benitez will be looking to make an immediate impact at the Santiago Bernabeu and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the Spanish giants made Pogba their number one transfer target this summer. Benitez was in charge of Napoli last season and saw first-hand the incredible impact that the youngster can have on matches. In fact, the France international popped up with a superb strike as Juventus extended their advantage at the top of Serie A with a 3-1 victory over Napoli back in January. After witnessing Pogba’s influence in matches against the top teams in Serie A, Benitez may be tempted to make a formal offer to Juventus for the 22-year-old in the coming months.

The 13-time European Cup winners are likely to invest this summer and, although their midfield is exceptionally strong, Paul Pogba will be one of their top targets. The Frenchman ticks all the right boxes to suggest that he would fit in at the Santiago Bernabeu and he would definitely be a quality addition to the squad. One could argue that Real Madrid should be strengthening in other areas, too, but the acquisition of Pogba would ensure that Los Blancos continue to dominate matches from start to finish and his stature in the big matches would certainly help the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the central midfield area. Pogba will dominate European football for the foreseeable future and will have a huge influence on Real’s chances of winning the Champions League if he were to move to Spain this summer.
