Lyon block Lacazette and Umtiti bids

French side don’t want to lose duo

Jose Mourinho has been left angered by Lyon’s actions which sees his club unable to make a bid for their two French stars.

Chelsea are apparently interested in both Lacazette and Umtiti but are not able to launch a bid to secure a move. This is due to the Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas having no intention of selling the two Frenchmen as they massively contributed to Lyon’s season last term, in which they qualified for next season’s Champions League.

Mourinho Eyes Duo

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has identified Umtiti as captain John Terry‘s replacement in the future and wants him to partner fellow France U-21’s defender Kurt Zouma in the heart of Chelsea’s back line.

Lacazette has been offered a new deal as has Umtiti. The French striker scored 31 goals for Lyon last season but they may have to increase his wages which is a big reason why Chelsea are keeping an eye on him.
