Cruyff: Mourinho will NOT join Barca

Reports emerged from Spain that Joan Laporta is looking to bring Jose Mourinho to the Camp Nou after growing quickly frustrated wih current boss Luis Enrique, who was only appointed this summer.

The Portuguese tactician was in charge of rivals Real Madrid for three years and was even an assistant to both Sir Bobby Robson and Louis Van Gaal at Barcelona in the late 90s.

The European giants have also be outrageously linked with Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo but speaking at a game between the Sitges Veterans Association and a Catalan team of retired players, Johan Cruyff was quick to rubbish these claims, saying neither man would join Barca.

He said: “I don’t think there’s much to [the rumours], they’re just idle comments.

“When you talk about something you know nothing about, you end up kicking up a storm for no reason.

“Sport is a game which holds many possibilities, but in this case they are unlikely to be feasible. I don’t imagine that Laporta would bring in Mourinho and Ronaldo.”
