Crystal Palace are interested in Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke, chairman Steven Parish has confirmed.

Solanke hasn’t been able to establish his craft at the Anfield since his move from Chelsea. It has been a frustrating 18 months for the youngster who is struggling to make his mark in the Merseyside.

Lack of goals has been a major concern for Palace who are just five points clear of the relegation zone. The likes of Jordan Ayew are yet to contribute whole heartedly while Christian Benteke is working his way back from an injury.

Palace’s over reliance on Wilfried Zaha hasn’t been of much help as the winger cum forward has struggled to find the back of the net this term. Solanke hasn’t featured this season but it remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp sanctions his departure.

Parish said, “We’re trying.

“These things are never straightforward are they? If we can it would make a big difference, it’ll lift everybody.”

“The papers are not miles off.”

“Our squad is in good shape as we have invested significantly in recent windows, but naturally Dougie [Freedman, sporting director] and I will be looking for suitable additions in areas where we need to cover.”
