Daniel Sturridge set for contract extension

Liverpool are preparing a contract extension for striker, Daniel Sturridge, which could see him stay at Anfield until 2019.

The Merseyside club want the forward to commit his future by signing a new five-year deal, which could be worth double what he is currently earning.

Sturridge, who joined Liverpool from Chelsea in 2013, is currently on around ÂŁ70k-a-week, but this new contract could see his weekly wage rise to a whopping ÂŁ140k-a-week.

Liverpool are keen to secure the future’s of their current stars, with Sturridge and Raheem Sterling both set to sign extensions in the upcoming months.

The 25-year-old forward, who has scored 35 goals for The Reds, will become one of the club’s highest earners if he agrees to the new deal, which will also include lucrative goal bonuses, appearance bonuses and success bonuses.
