David Villa set to be reunited with Andres Iniesta as the striker is on the verge of joining Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
The 36 year old has left New York City and is set for a new adventure on the Japanese sail. Villa and Iniesta played together at Barcelona and once again they will be pairing up.
Villa already made the announcement on social media and could be unveiled as a Vissel player at any moment. Club chairman confirmed the above development : We are pursuing a new style of play and after talking with the coach, Villa’s name came up as a striker who would fit that style of play. He is a wonderful striker.”
Villa himself made revealed his new club earlier. “It’s decided.
“I have a new destination. A great challenge awaits.
“New country. New culture. New team-mates. Hello Japan. Hello Vissel Kobe.
Villa will be joining the likes of Lukas Podoloski at the club. An official statement read : “By adding Villa to its roster, Vissel Kobe aims to build on the foundation laid with the additions of Lukas Podolski and Andres Iniesta, as it takes another step towards the club’s goal of becoming the number one club in Asia.”
