Newcastle United defender, Davide Santon, has announced that he is re-joining Inter Milan on loan until the end of the season.

The left-back has struggled for first-team football this season at St James Park after returning from knee surgery, and he is now set to spend the rest of the season on-loan at his former-club.

Santon left Inter back in 2011 for Newcastle in a deal worth around ÂŁ5million, and he is now likely to move back to the San Siro on a permanent basis in the Summer in a deal worth around ÂŁ3.5m.

“Life is strange, I never imagined I’d come back,” Santon wrote on his official Facebook page.

“I thank Newcastle and all the fans for these three and a half years together, we had many good times and this city and this team will forever be in my heart.

“I am starting a new chapter, I’m happy to return to Inter. I started my career there and had so many important moments.

“I’ll do my best to repay the faith shown in me.”

The loan move is likely to be made permanent in the Summer.

Santon becomes Inter’s third loan deal this month, joining Lukas Podolski and Xherden Shaqiri.
