Aston Villa midfielder Tom Cleverley will remain at the Midlands club for the duration of his season-long loan deal, it has been reported by the BBC.
Speculation earlier on Monday suggested that Manchester United were set to recall the 25-year-old from his loan stay at Villa Park, if Paul Lambert didn’t agree a permanent fee for the Basingstoke-born player.
Relegation candidates Villa had the chance to snap up a permaent deal for Cleverley on deadline day for a fee, withb officials from the club rejecting the chance in order to potentially sign him on a free-transfer in the summer, after his deal at United expires.
Cleverley has been a key member of the Aston Villa squad since his arrival from the Red Devils in August, having featured 21 times for 16th placed Villa.
