Dean Smith has said that Aston Villa would look to bring in some new players this January.

The Villans are currently in the 12th spot in the Championship table and are looking to finish the season on a respectable note.

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has said that the Villans are keen to add a few new faces this January to the squad. The Villans are currently stranded at the 12th spot in the Championship table and are looking to turn their season around with the business end of the season still to come. The Villans faced a disappointing defeat at the hands of Wigan Athletic in their last match, which they lost by 3-0, dealing another blow to the expectations of the Villans.

Speaking to the media after the defeat, Smith said, “The window has always been there to bring in some players. We will look to do that.”

He added, “I’m not even looking at the (top six). I am looking at the next game. We can’t go from where we were travelling to Derby, Middlesbrough and West Brom and putting the performances we were with the same personnel, minus Axel and Jack. We are training no different. We are certainly not a one or two man team. The players know that. There is certainly enough ability within that dressing room. They have to turn it around now. We all do.”
