McCormack Recalled By Aston Villa, Leaves Mariners

Ross McCormack has left the A League club Central Coast Mariners as Aston Villa recalls him.

The striker has his loan spell at the Australian club cut short, which was scheduled to end in 2020.

Aston Villa has recalled their veteran striker Ross McCormack back to the club as his loan spell with A League club Central Coast Mariners till 2020 has been cut short. The player joined the Australian outfit in 2018 and was scheduled to be there till the next year. However, the player would now play the rest of the season for the Villans and is expected to play a significant role in their race to make to the playoffs once again.

Ahead of his departure from the club, the Scottish ace has thanked the Mariners in his farewell statement. He said, “I would like to thank the Central Coast Mariners and the fans for welcoming me on the Central Coast with open arms. Although I was only there for a short period, everyone made me feel very welcome from day one.”

He added, “The opportunity for me to return to the UK is something that I couldn’t turn down and will allow me to see my children more, which is something that is very important to me. I wish the playing group and coaching staff all the best for the rest of the season.”
