2024 London Football Awards: Full list of winners
Declan Rice of Arsenal and Lauren James of Chelsea emerged as notable winners at the 2024 London Football Awards held at Camden’s Roundhouse. Rice, who previously clinched the Premier League Player of the Year in 2022, secured the accolade once again after a stellar season.
His contributions included captaining West Ham to the Europa Conference League title before sealing a record-breaking £100m move to Arsenal. As a pivotal figure in Mikel Arteta’s squad, Rice showcased his prowess by scoring crucial goals and steering the Gunners towards a title charge.
On the other hand, Lauren James, a rising star in women’s football, claimed the WSL Player of the Year award. The Chelsea forward, aged just 22, dazzled with her performances, netting 12 goals in 13 league games and proving instrumental in Chelsea’s success.
Her remarkable achievements not only include dominating the domestic scene but also playing a significant role in England’s World Cup final run the previous summer.
The event also honored other deserving recipients, including Cole Palmer of Chelsea, who clinched the Men’s Young Player of the Year award, and Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham, who was named Manager of the Year.
Guglielmo Vicario, also of Tottenham, secured the Goalkeeper of the Year title, while Michael Olise of Crystal Palace was recognized for his stunning goal against Luton Town with the Goal of the Season award.
The awards ceremony, attended by luminaries from London’s footballing fraternity, highlighted the outstanding contributions of players and managers across various levels of the game.
The occasion not only celebrated sporting excellence but also raised funds for Willow, a charity dedicated to creating special memories for seriously ill young adults.
