Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder Dele Alli has pulled out of England’s squad for the friendly against Switzerland due to a muscle strain. The 22-year old has returned to Tottenham to seek treatment. The muscle strain is minor and there is hope that Alli will play in Tottenham’s match against Liverpool at Wembley on Saturday.

Dele Alli played the entirety of England’s Nations League opener against Spain at Wembley. There is little chance that Southgate will make any changes now. Southgate already called up the Leicester City duo of Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray as injury covers for Adam Lallana and Raheem Sterling.

According to reports, Gareth Southgate will make a number of changes in the friendly against Switzerland at Leicester tomorrow. This match could see a few youngsters making their international debut. They include Chilwell, Gray, Alex McCarthy and Marcus Bettinelli.

Alli is not the only player who has pulled out of England’s squad following their defeat against Spain. Luke Shaw left England’s training camp after suffering a head injury due to a collision with Spanish defender Dani Carvajal. There haven’t been any ill effects so far.
