Striker set for massive pay-rise
Diego Costa is set to be rewarded for an impressive Premier League season so far by being handed a new contract with a huge pay-rise at Chelsea.
Chelsea want to offer the 28-year-old a two-year extension to his deal that expires in 2019. He is currently paid an estimated £150,000 a week, but can expect a significant rise on that figure if he agrees fresh terms with the club.
Costa has refound his form under Antonio Conte this season after struggling last season in a campaign where Chelsea under-performed.
His form has ended talk of a quickfire move back to La Liga.
He has started every game for Chelsea this season and helped them to 11 wins in a row, taking them to the top of the Premier League, however will miss their Boxing Day game vs Bournemouth through suspension.
