Alexis Sanchez finally debuted in his new colours and how did it go?
The Chilean made his Premier League debut for Manchester United after his highly buzzed move from league rivals Arsenal on Wednesday night in a crucial fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley Stadium.
Things kicked off pretty well for Alexis Sanchez last week as he made his official debut for Manchester United in the FA Cup vs Yeovil Town in which he looked in good touch as the Red Devils won 4-0 and secured a place in the 5th round of the competition. Despite of not scoring a goal Alexis was influential throughout the game.
But his first Premier League start will not be remembered fondly. Jose Mourinho’s side were well beaten by their title rivals Tottenham as the home side won 2-0 on Wednesday night clash and their new No. 7 struggled as much as any United player on the pitch throughout the game.
Sanchez received an hostile reception from fans of his former team’s Arch rivals Tottenham. Sanchez was booed by the home fans throughout and it soon became clear he would be the subject of special attention from Tottenham’s players as well. The former Arsenal man was surrounded by white shirts with every touch. He was fouled five times, more than any other player on the pitch.

“He worked hard, but with the transformation the game had, the game was not for him. In the second half, I tried to give him a position where he could be closer to Lukaku but then he felt the need to drop too much to organise.
But he gave everything, good effort and this is a good feeling for me to know that the player is available with that spirit.”
