German side Hamburg have secured the permanent signing of Arsenal defender Johan Dhourou after activating a buying clause the loan agreement between the two clubs.
The defender was sent out on loan in July 2013 and has had a good season in Germany, making 20 appearances. The deal is thought to be around 2.5-3.5 million euros for 2 years.
The Hamburg manager Mirko Slomka hinted that a deal had been completed for the Swiss international:
“I am happy that he’s staying with us for the next few years as he’s a stabilising influence at the centre of our defence,” said Slomka.
Hamburg are having a disastrous season ad are looking to avoid their first ever relegation from Germanys top flight.
