Liverpool midfielder sends strong message to Hungary national teammate
Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool’s midfield star, has set up the atmosphere for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash with Bournemouth. While Jurgen Klopp is expected to put out a reserve team, Szoboszlai is definitely not going down without a fight.
In an interview with Hungarian site Sportal, the 23-year-old midfielder gave a strong message to his Hungary national team colleague and Bournemouth player, Milos Kerkez.
Szoboszlai’s warning was clear and direct: “I want him to pray that I don’t play.”
Szoboszlai’s persistent self-belief has swiftly won him over among Liverpool fans, and while some may see it as arrogance, it’s obvious that he has a sarcastic side. Meanwhile, The warning was made with a wink and a nod.
Jurgen Klopp has to deal with a problem in midfield, with Szoboszlai, Alexis MacAllister, and Ryan Gravenberch all fighting for a starting berth. However, with Szoboszlai having played every minute of the Premier League’s matches this season, he appears to be the least likely to play tonight.
