FC Nantes’s website has confirmed that Papy Djilobodji has signed for Chelsea on a 4 year deal
Senegalese international Papy Djilobodji, 26 has been Jose Mourinho’s number one target since they missed out on Everton defender John Stones and they have finally sealed the deal for the defender this lunchtime.
The fee is believed to be £2.7 million and he will be in contention to play for Chelsea after the international break.
Nantes have said “FC Nantes extends it’s congratulations and wish him well for the rest of his career”.
Chelsea Football Club have now announced the deal, and after getting the transfer done, the defender spoke to the club’s official website and revealed his delight at signing for the Premier League champions.
Djilobodji said: ‘I’m very happy to sign for a big club like Chelsea and I want to do my best to help the team win titles. I want to thank the club for giving me this opportunity.’
