Donny van de Beek has endured a nightmare spell at Man United.
The Dutch midfielder has struggled for game time and is yet to be included in a matchday squad in the 2023/24 campaign.
Everyone expected his career revival since the appointment of Erik ten Hag in the summer of 2022 after he was cast aside by former managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Ragnick.
Van de Beek was excluded from the 25-man squad of the Champions League and was expected to leave this summer.
He has featured in a total of 60 matches for the Red Devils and managed to make only four goal contributions.
The midfielder has been advised to embark on a new challenge after struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford.
Ex-Premier League winger Boudewijn Zenden expects the Dutchman to be selfish in his next move.
Zenden told TG Casino: “Whatever he does next is his choice. He needs to find something that suits him.
“His marriage to United has never really been great. He’s never been an undisputed starter, and that makes it really hard because players want to be important and play a lot of games.
“That will help you perform better but, if you don’t play a lot and you have to start playing, that makes it harder as you don’t have minutes under your belt.”
