Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes the club should not offer striker Luis Suarez a new contract as he believes the Uruguayan still wants out of the club.

The 26-year-old, who made a scoring return to the Premier League on Sunday, asked to leave the club in the summer and was the subject of two formal bids from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

However, both their bids were rejected and the striker eventually had to stay-put at Anfield.

Now that Suarez has stayed, many reports are suggesting that Liverpool officials want him to sign a new long-term contract, however, Aldridge believes he shouldn’t be rewarded for his actions over the summer.

He told Metro: ‘Suarez was very keen to leave Liverpool in the summer and I have no doubt that he will look to get away once again.’
