Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, has revealed that he was saddened when he heard about Juan Mata’s move to Manchester United.

The Spaniard left Stamford Bridge in January after falling down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho, and is now struggling for game-time at Old Trafford after Louis Van Gaal’s Summer spending spree.

Mata, who was signed by David Moyes for ÂŁ37million, is now competing with the likes of; Angel Di Maria, Wayne Rooney and Adnan Januzaj for an attacking role, and his former team-mate has admitted that his transfer took him by surprise, and left him feeling upset.

Hazard said: “I was sad when Juan left because he was a good player. But at the end he was on the bench and he didn’t play a lot.

“When you’re a player, it’s normal you want to play, so I respect his choice – but I wanted him to stay here because it was a pleasure to play with him.

“Playing with Mata was like playing with Cesc Fabregas. When you play with big players, you can learn a lot. Juan is my friend but I’ve not been in touch with him this season.”
