Eric Dier Hails English Youngsters After Croatia Game

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has showered praises on English youngsters following Jadon Sancho’s first appearances for the Three Lions in the UEFA Nations League against Croatia.

Southgate called up a number of youngsters to the squad as the gaffer has been trying to build a core setup consists of youngsters. The likes of James Maddison, Mason Mount, Nathaniel Chalobah and Harry Winks are expected to play key roles in the near future.

Marcus Rashford has already made his name in the senior circuit and it seems the future of English football is in safe hands. Ben Chilwell made an impressing full start against Croatia while Sancho also played his part in this match.

Dier hailed the contribution of these players. “I feel like the performance was really positive on the whole.

“Obviously there are a lot of young players in the squad looking to get their chance and keeping everyone on their toes.

“Jadon Sancho, when he came on, I think he was really positive and had a really positive impact, was brave and took people on and that is what you want from young players.

He then went on to add, “It was very strange. Obviously you never want to play in that scenario but it is what it is and we have to deal with it

“I think we dealt with it the best we could and hopefully we don’t have to do it again.”
