Guardiola has reportedly decided to leave Bayern

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly decided he is going to quit the Allianz Arena next summer, when his contract comes to an end.

Despite the German champions keen for the former Barcelona boss to stay, Guardiola will turn down the offer of a ÂŁ14.5 million-a-year deal in search of a fresh challenge.

The Bavarians are already five points clear of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga and look set to retain their title, while they face Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Guardiola has previously stated that he would get bored of staying at one club for too long, and it seems Bayern’s dominance has put him off staying there much longer, with the Champions League the only major trophy elusive from his time in Germany.

“Tonight, I have no answer. Next week, you will know the answer.” Guardiola told reporters after Bayern’s cup win over Darmstadt.

England next stop for Pep

Franz Beckenbauer believes Guardiola is attracted by the prospect of taking over at Manchester United, with the Red Devils struggling to put together a promising title challenge under Louis Van Gaal.

Bayern have wanted an answer on the Spaniard’s future before Christmas, so they can start planning for next season, should Guardiola decide to leave.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are all potential projects that would excite Guardiola, and none would be a straight forward task, with Chelsea’s horrible demise since last season plus City struggling in Europe and not dominant in the league. While United are yet to win a Premier League title without the guidance of Alex Ferguson and falling out of the Champions League at the group stages.
