Fulham wonderkid joined Manchester City instead

Patrick Roberts reportedly rejected a move to Liverpool before making his £8million move to Manchester City

City recently completed the deal for the young Fulham striker and the 18-year-old has now joined them on their pre-season tour of Australia.

But according to reports, Roberts snubbed the opportunity of an Anfield move despite most of his family being from Merseyside and him growing up a Liverpool fan.

He was born and raised in London, close to Fulham’s Craven Cottage.

Homegrown and In Demand

It is thought a number of Premier League clubs looked at the forward before City snapped him up.

Roberts joined new boys Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling on the touring party down under. He has become Man City‘s third homegrown signing of the summer.
