Arsenal star reassures fans
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has responded to reports claiming he will quit the club if Arsene Wenger remains as manager.
The shock reports emerged from Spain yesterday morning stating that Ozil would push for a move away from the Emirates Stadium should the club continue to back Wenger.
However, the German international has taken to Twitter to put those claims to bed, stating one of the reasons he joined Arsenal in the first place is because of Wenger.
Ozil Responds
He tweeted: “Have seen the media reports today. Arsène Wenger was a big reason for me joining Arsenal – this hasn’t changed! #Respect #AFC”
This will be a big relief to Arsenal fans who have been fearing the worst regarding their assist machine after the club fell away from the title-race.
