The forward was expected to leave the West London club

Pedro Rodriguez may have dropped the biggest hint yet that he will stay at Chelsea and at least play a part in Antonio Conte’s first Premier League season.

The 28-year old had recently been playing at Euro 2016 with the Spain squad, until they were dumped out by Italy on Monday during the last 16 knockout stage.

Many believed that following the European Championships Pedro would leave the Blues in order to rejoin his former club Barcelona.

However, a subtle change at Chelsea suggests he might stay put…

Are numbers really that important?

Yes, that’s right, Pedro has changed his kit number at Chelsea from 17 to 11, a number which is deemed to be more associated with the first team because you have your ‘starting 11′.

If numbers still do really mean something in modern day football then the World Cup winner is going nowhere.

If he stays then the Blues’ fans will be hoping he has a better season in England than his first, as he only scored eight goals in all competitions last campaign.
