Chelsea to enter Kroos control?

Toni Kroos

Reports claim Chelsea are interested in Real Madrid star Toni Kroos.

Calciomercato are reporting that the Blues could go for the 26-year-old star, who arrived at the Bernabeu in 2014.

The Chelsea squad is likely to undergo a host of changes in the summer, including a replacement for Guus Hiddink as manager.

Owner Roman Abramovich has a few quid going spare, and he may well have to dig deep if he is to bankroll a move for Kroos.

He is not likely to come cheap, and he is under contract with Real until 2020.

Kroos is one of the finest players in his position, able to dictate play in midfield.

He boasts a 94 per cent passing accuracy this season.

The German was an important part of the 2014 World Cup winning squad, and is the only player born in East Germany to win the competition. He was also rated as the best player at the tournament by the Castrol Performance Index, the World Cup’s official statistical analyser.
