Hodgson says there is no dialogue with Dortmund over Zaha

Bunesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund are suggested to be interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha in a big-money move, partly to replace Christian Pulisic, who will join Chelsea in the summer. But Palace manager Roy Hodgson says that there have been no talks between both clubs.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Eagles’ FA Cup tie against Tottenham, Hodgson was asked about this situation and he was confident that the player – who recently signed a new five-year deal at Selhurst Park, will stay put.

The gaffer was quoted as saying: “We don’t know [about] that.

“There has been absolutely no dialogue whatsoever between Borussia Dortmund and Crystal Palace Football Club.

“If I am going to comment every time a club is linked with Wilf Zaha, I will be talking about it for a long time.

“Wilf signed a long-term contract with Crystal Palace. He’s very much our player.

“I’d be very surprised if there were any clubs out there who wouldn’t think he’s very good, but that doesn’t mean to say they are going to try and buy him.”

Zaha was terrific in Palace’s previous league game against Liverpool, exactly showing why he is one of the best players in the team. He hasn’t been at his best this season but remains the most dangerous player on the pitch for the Eagles.

Crystal Palace welcome Spurs for the FA Cup fourth round tie on Sunday, before they travel to Southampton for an important league game on Wednesday.
