Jose Mourinho has admitted he is facing a selection headache as a number of players are currently battling injuries ahead of the crucial game against Arsenal on Wednesday.

The Portuguese manager had to seek the service of Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic to reorganise his defence in the 2-2 draw against Southampton. With both Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling looking doubtful, we could see a similar backline on Wednesday.

Victor Lindelof has already been ruled out for a longer period while there is no update on the severity of Alexis Sanchez’ injury. Added to that, Ashley Young will be unavailable due to suspension as he picked up his fifth yellow against Southampton which means it could open the door for Diogo Dalot who made his Premier League debut in the last match.

Marcus Rashford too had a minor knock in the Southampton game but is expected to make the cut.

Mourinho reveals he is going to have a tough time to name his first eleven. “We are going to be in difficulties again to build the team.

“We are again going to have to make adaptations and compensations to try to give some balance to the team. But then I believe we are again going to have the spirit to fight and to try to win the match.”
