Pep Guardiola wants Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ben Chilwell in stunning £80m deal

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is eyeing up a home-grown fullback pair of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ben Chilwell in a sensational £80m swoop in the summer transfer window.

The Cityzens boss has watched the pair throughout the course of this season and is interested in getting both of them across the line at the Etihad.

Leicester left-back Chilwell, is expected to cost around £50m after signing a new deal with the Foxes and been called by the national team amidst an impressive season at King Power Stadium.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace right-back Wan-Bissaka, is having a dream of a debut senior season in the league, and his price is set to soar up to £30m. He was also targeted by Manchester United and Chelsea during the January transfer window.

Guardiola spent a fortune in the summer of 2017 to bring four new fullbacks and revamp his back-line, that eventually became a base in them walking away with the league last season.

But left-back Benjamin Mendy’s serial long-term injuries has shortened his stay at the pitch since he arrived at Manchester. Hence, Chilwell is seen as the Frenchman’s successor.

And it is suggested that Wan-Bissaka will compete with Kyle Walker at right-back. The latter has been out of form at times, which also led to the manager dropping him for few games.

In terms of squad structure and having more home-grown players, Guardiola would do very nicely if both the targeted players sign for the club in the summer.
