The Premier League have confirmed they will not prevent a family member of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour buying Liverpool.

It has been said over the past few days that Liverpool are expecting a ÂŁ700million takeover by an individual from the same family of the Mansour’s. It is said the identity of the mystery buyer remains a secret, though one candidate is Sheikh Khalifa, the president of the United Arab Emirates.

Khalifa is estimated to be worth a stunning ÂŁ30billion and is even richer than his half-brother Mansour, who since buying Manchester City in 2008 has turned then into a European superpower, signing huge named players.

A takeover would be greatly appreciated by many involved with Liverpool football club, none more than Jurgen Klopp, who wants to completely revamp the Reds and go on to challenge for titles with the club.

Media outlet express Sport understands the German is considering a ÂŁ20m move for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze.

Gotze’s club team-mate Robert Lewandowski has also been linked, along with Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

This potential new income could mean that Liverpool could be a worldwide superpower in years to come.
