Tottenham are under a considerable amount of spotlight this summer, given the fact that they have been inactive in the last two transfer seasons. Mauricio Pochettino has already roped in Tanguy Ndombele in a club record £55m deal and is keen to do more business before the transfer window slams shut.
On that front, former Lillywhites striker Darren Bent has urged Kalvin Phillips to follow Jack Clarke’s footsteps and join Tottenham. The Leeds United midfielder is a target for the club and Bent has given his consent on the speculation.
“I’d like to see Kalvin Phillips move on, he’s earned that Premier League status,” Bent said.
“He can go to Spurs, quite easily. That holding role, getting about the pitch and making tackles and that, I can see him at Tottenham easily.
“They’re crying out for that player, so I can see him going there and he might not start straight away, might have to bide his time, but I can guarantee you once he gets in there he won’t come out.”
