It’s probably the only positive for France after last night’s Euro 2016 final
Despite France losing the Euro 2016 final in their own backyard to Portugal, one of their players did save them some grace by securing a trophy of his own.
Les Bleus lost 1-0 after extra time thanks to Eder’s goal for the champions, but Antoine Griezmann did bring some pride to the French fans by securing the Golden Boot.
The Atletico Madrid striker scored six goals throughout the tournament, including a brace in the 2-0 semi-final win over Germany.
Griezmann’s other four goals came against Albania in the group stage (1), Republic of Ireland in the last 16 knockout stage (2) and Iceland in the quarter-finals (1).
