Kylian Mbappe has been replaced by Alassane Plea in the France squad, having failed to shake off an injury problem.

France will be without the services of Kylian Mbappe for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers due to a thigh problem.

Mbappe returned from a hamstring problem in the 1-0 win over Bordeaux on September 28 but suffered a complication to the treated area, leading him to miss Paris Saint-Germain‘s 4-0 Ligue 1 defeat of Angers prior to the international break.

The youngster joined up with the France squad but, following medical tests, the French Football Federation (FFF) has confirmed it has allowed the player to leave Didier Deschamps’ group. The world champions take on Iceland and Turkey but will now do so without the star youngster.

Mbappe underwent tests at Clairefontaine after linking up with the national team and has left the camp on Wednesday morning. He had been expected to be rested against Iceland and play a part in the clash with Turkey.

But he will no longer do so after the national side’s medical staff discharged him in order to return to Paris to link up with his club.

Mbappe had just made his return from a hamstring issue which plagued him throughout September. Didier Deschamps has called up Alassane Pléa to replace the 20-year-old. The former Monaco star will attempt to regain fitness in time for PSG’s next Ligue 1 match, which is against Nice on 18 October.
