Dutch club agrees to sign Greek Kostas Mitroglou on loan.
PSV Eindhoven agreed to sign Greek international Kostas Mitroglou on a single season from Turkey’s Galatasaray.
With Luuk de Jong joining Sevilla and Sam Lammers suffering an injury, PSV are looking to add a striker to their squad to offer competition to Donyell Malen. Mitroglou underwent his medical on Thursday in Eindhoven before completing a loan move from Olympique Marseille.
Galatasaray said that Mitroglou has been loaned to PSV Eindhoven for €1.2 million euros. According to the contract, the Turkish side would pay €3 million to the Greek footballer for the 2019-2020 season.
The 31-year-old Greek international started his career in Germany before spells with Olympiacos, Fulham, Benfica, and Marseille. He spent last season on loan with Galatasaray but failed to make a big impression scoring two goals in nine games during his half-year spell.
In his career, Mitroglou has played for Olympiacos, English club Fulham, Benfica in Portugal, and France’s Marseille.
