No one cares about the coach – Thierry Henry.
The former Arsenal star who recently entered management has now declared that players, team, board, press nobody looks at the coach as a person but rather as a target man.
“They should [care about themselves] at the end of the day. I didn’t care about my coach, I cared about what he could do for me, what he could do for the team but I never cared about him,” Henry told TSN.
“I never went to see my coach and said: ‘how are you?’. You just don’t. Fans don’t care about the coach, press don’t care about the coach, players don’t care about the coach.
“They want to know why they didn’t play, why the tactics weren’t right or whatever but you don’t really want to know about the human being that the coach can be. I think that’s the way it is, you accept it and that’s how it is.
“As a coach you deal with everyone’s problems and that’s how it is. You have to solve them, not many people want to know about yours but that’s the way it is, you have to take it on the chin and carry on.”
