The Premier League is one of the best and most exciting leagues in the world. It has seen some great teams, brilliant matches and breathtaking players in the past.

In the recently concluded season, the top five in the Premier League, there was Manchester City, who won everything domestically, then there was Liverpool who are the Champions League winners, third were Chelsea who won the Europa League. Fourth were Tottenham and they made it to the final of the Champions League and fifth side Arsenal were in the final of the Europa League.

Hence, given the obvious success of Premier League football, let us tell you the dream team in PL right now. Check out below to see who made the cut and who just lost out!

FORMATION: 4-3-3

GOALKEEPER: ALISSON BECKER

The Liverpool custodian joined the Reds last summer. In one summer, he helped Liverpool defence keep the most number of clean sheets in the Premier League, he won the Champions League the same way and also kept his third golden glove of the season with Brazil on their way to win the Copa America.

He has greatly improved the defence and is possibly not only the best goalkeeper in England but also in the world right now.

RIGHT BACK: ALEXANDER TRENT-ARNOLD

He had a lot of competition from the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, who is better defensively but Arnold has a record assists record last season. He scored plenty of good free-kicks as well and edges everyone else simply based on his overall talent as a right back. He is not so bad defensively either because of his speed.

CENTRE BACK: VIRGIL VAN DIJK

He is an automatic choice at centre-back. He is possibly the best player in the world right now, let alone be the best in his position. He is solid in defence, can command a defence, he can control the temp from defence and is a beast aerially. He will walk into any side in the planet and is perhaps the best defensive player in the Premier League player now.

CENTRE BACK: AYMERIC LAPORTE

Not the most popular choice, he can still make a lot of teams in the world due to his control of defence from the back. He is brilliant on the ball, a very fast runner and can make amazing last ditch tackles. He is Manchester City’s best defender and can be a brilliant partner for Virgil Van Dijk.

LEFT BACK: ANDY ROBERTSON

The young Scotsman was playing in non-professional football five years ago. He is brilliant on the ball and has a battery to last 180 minutes staright! He is brilliant with his in the box defending and can send in whipping crosses with brilliant accuracy. He is also good with passing and pressing making him one of the best defenders in the league.

HOLDING MIDFIELDER: NGOLO KANTE

The French midfielder has played the modern role of a defending midfielder to perfection. He is always in the right place to dispossess the opponent and win the ball back. He is the perfect interceptor who sits in front of the defence and can win the ball while on the counter or while being pressed.

CENTRAL MIDFIELDER: KEVIN DE BRUYNE

The Belgian midfielder was the player of the year for Manchester City in the last to last season. Even though he was out for the majority of last season, he was still full of class and quality and showed it in the final of the FA Cup when he won the man of the match after coming on as a sub for the last 30 minutes. He remains the league’s most efficient midfielder in terms of productivity with his direct style of play.

CENTRAL MIDFIELDER: CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN

Stats will show Eriksen is the league’s best midfielder in the last three seasons. He is first in terms of chances created, assists made and appearances made. He will probably leave this season if Real Madrid come calling. He is worthy of course of the Galacticos white shirt and Tottenham should be afraid to lose him.

LEFT WINGER: RAHEEM STERLING

He played out of his skin last season and his growth in the last five years, specially under Pep Guardiola has been phenomenal. He was nominated for the best player in the league last season due to his performances and is now one of the leaders in England. Sterling is expected now to be the most dangerous winger in the league now with Hazard gone.

CENTRE FORWARD: HARRY KANE

He was chosen after out casting some of the best strikers in the world like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sergio Aguero. The player has been England’s captain and for good reason. He is lethal in attack in terms of scoring and creating. He does not shy away from a physical tussle with any player and can out pace most people on the pitch. He is skilful with the ball and can score brilliantly well from most positions.

RIGHT WINGER: MO SALAH

The man of the Premier League right now. Salah is good enough to play for any team in the world. He is a brilliant player who plays on the wings but is a forward in terms of goal scoring numbers. He has won the Golden Boot on back to back seasons in the Premier League and has taken the Liverpool frontline to a whole new level with his numbers. It does not hurt that he is probably one of the fastest in the world.
