Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore, but may have to wait to get their man.
Sky Sports today claimed that Blues boss Antonio Conte is considering a shock January swoop for the pacey 20-year-old.
But any potential deal would have to be put on hold due to FIFA rules restricting the number of clubs a player can play for in one season.
“Chelsea are interested in the Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore.” claims Sky Sports
“Any deal would see Traore loaned back to Boro until the end of the season given that FIFA rules states a player can not play for three different clubs in one season.
“Traore has already featured for Aston Villa and Boro this season.”
Ex-Barcelona star Traore was signed by Boro manager Aitor Karanka from Aston Villa last summer following their relegation to the Championship and penned a four-year deal at the Riverside Stadium.
Chelsea and Middlesbrough are also into talks over a potential deal for striker Patrick Bamford.
Bamford recently returned to Chelsea after an unsuccessful loan spell at Burnley. The 23-year-old has turned out for Middlesbrough before, scoring 19 goals in 44 appearances while on loan there during the 2014-15 campaign.
