Watford planning bid for Fabio Borini

The Italian forward could be Watford’s 13th signing of the summer

Watford are planning a late bid for want-away Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.

The Italian has never really featured under Brendan Rodgers and has been linked with a move away from Anfield all summer.

It seemed he would have preferred a return to Italy but after failing to finalise a deal he could be set for a move to Vicarage Road.

Last chance in England

Borini moved to Liverpool in 2012 and was Brendan Rodgers’ first signing as manager.

Unfortunately he made just 38 appearances in all competitions and only scored 3 times for the Reds.

He did have a successful loan spell at Sunderland during the 2013/14 campaign, where he was influential in the Black Cat’s survival and route to the Capital One Cup final.

The Italian is expected to leave Liverpool before Tuesday’s deadline and will be hopeful of regaining his form at Watford in a final attempt to succeed in the Premier League.
