The World Cup winner is certainly going to be out a while.
Hugo Lloris will be assessed to ascertain the length of his injury lay-off after he suffered a dislocated elbow.
There was a lengthy delay as the Spurs captain was treated on the field and given morphine and oxygen before being taken to hospital. He was then replaced by Paulo Gazzaniga, who conceded twice more as Aaron Connolly’s brace ensured a comfortable win for Brighton.
In addition, Tottenham have confirmed Lloris dislocated his elbow after he was assessed at a nearby hospital. A statement on their official website said: “We can confirm that Hugo Lloris sustained a dislocated elbow during Saturday’s match against Brighton.
“Our club captain was stretchered off as a result of the injury and will return to London after being assessed at a local hospital. Assessment will continue in the coming week to ascertain the full extent of the injury and the length of time he will require to undergo rehabilitation.”
Lloris hasn’t been up to his usual standards the past two seasons, but has still been above average. Gazzaniga hasn’t disappointed, though, and should seize a chance which will likely last well over a month.
